In 1985, veterinarian Ignacio Idalsoaga opened the country’s first wildlife rescue center. Later, “Parque de As\u00eds,” the first cemetery for pets, was created, followed in 1999 by Buin Zoo, the largest and most modern zoo in Chile. With more than 3,000 specimens from 250 different species, Buin Zoo has achieved a great reputation for its conservation initiative, high level of care for endangered species, and improvement programs for the optimal health of the animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2021, Buin Zoo came to BBK+2Brains with major challenges generated by the pandemic and the lack of visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was therefore necessary to establish strategic definitions for the development and future sustainability of Buin Zoo, defining the future aspiration, pillars, and strategic objectives for the next four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We designed an implementation roadmap of 24 initiatives that establish the development focus for the coming years in all areas of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We began by conducting an in-depth diagnosis, both internal and contextual, where we analyzed the financial situation, interviewed all strategic stakeholders, and conducted qualitative and quantitative studies with visitors, among other activities. This allowed us to have a multidimensional view upon which the foundations for future construction were laid.
